Karynton Clark: a driven leader on and off the court.
Karynton Clark, a 9th grader at Monroe High School, will be a name you won't forget. Clark is a point guard and shooting guard for the Carolina Lady Fire out of Monroe, NC.
Clark is in the gym all week. She practices every day with the Carolina Lady Fire- Monday through Friday and either has tournaments or training on the weekends.
She believes the most important part of basketball is keeping a positive attitude and communicating with her team. Clark does not want to let her team get down.
Currently, Clark believes her strength is driving with her right hand and finishing or dishing the ball off to a teammate when guarded. She will be working on mastering her left hand dribbling and finishing this year. Clark also works on her contested step-back jumper regularly.
Clark looks up too Maya Moore and Paris Kea.
Clark has a big future ahead of her and has her eyes set on playing ball. She is open to play anywhere, but says that South Carolina State and NC State are two schools she's been looking at. Clark really appreciates both coaches desire to push players to hustle and be true leaders.
It's more than basketball for Clark. She realizes the importance of a degree as well. If basketball does not work out, Clark plans to pursue a career as a sports physician which won't be hard with a rocking 3.5 gpa.
